Shaving Cream and Ink fabric painting.

This is what we did Wednesday in my Fiber Arts group.
What you need:
tray
Fabric
fabric ink or paint ( can use regular paint but use acrylic) like craft paint you get at wal-mart etc.
trash bags
squige(sp) the thing you wash off water from windows with, just smaller.
eye dropper- for detailing where you want paint to go.
skewer
Shaving cream not gel.
iron
Instructions:
place tray ( can just use trash bag if using bigger piece of fabric) on plastic bag........cover all of tray with shaving cream, use your hand to spread evenly. use dropper to add ink or paint to shaving cream where you want it.use skewer to swearl ink into shaving cream.....til you get the look you want.place fabric on top of shaving cream and gently pat down til ink shows through cloth. pick up cloth and place shaving cream side up on the other trash bag.......squige off shaving cream...let dry, then heat set with iron. then wash to get shaving cream smell out.that's it. Oh yeah, you can get fabric ink at most quilt shops or Ac Moore's or Hobby lobby I think.
You can also do fabric painting this way.

Autumn Wall Hanging

This is the second wall hanging for the seasons. It matches the one I did for Summer. We are doing these in my Country Quilter's club. We still have Winter & Spring to do yet.
Next month we are doing animal head plastic bag holders and or vaccumm covers. They have a pattern for one that's a kitty that is so cute. I'm going to be doing that one.
Tomorrow I go to my Fiber Arts group and my Applique group. Fiber arts is doing shavingcream and ink painting on fabric , but I'm allergic to shaving cream so I will only be watching this part. Will be working on some xmas ornaments while they do that.
not sure yet what we are doing in applique group yet.
I hope everyone has a blessed day!

New Crafts..........

MM & Hello Everyone,

Well, I've been very busy sewing this weekend. I got most of my Flying Witch quilted (will post scan when done). The picture above is a Thanksgiving Wall Hanging I made. I machine appliqued the turkey and I printed out onto muslin the picture above it.

Right now I'm working on a fish Wall hanging........It's done on hand painted fabric with fused black fish shapes that I traced from a coloring book on oceans. I'm adding a border and that it. excepting for quilting it's finished.

I have 2 Challenge Quilts I'm working on but I can't tell you about those yet.

I'm still doing the BOM's at Quilts Your Way Forum.
Also I'm starting on some of my Xmas presents.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

9-11-01

Life without that of those who serve their country proudly would be a life void of love, dreams, and freedom.

Goddess/God Bless all of those that lost their lives that horrible day in September, 2001.

To those of you wear the uniform of your country today, and for those of you who wore the uniform in days past; you gave of yourself, to protect and keep our way of life free.

Some came home, some never did. Some live in our memories, some in our tears. Please accept this small token of my admiration and pride for what you did in your sacrifice for America.

Thank You...

Please don't forget to fly your Flag!

Fall/Mabon Wall Hanging

This is a Wall hanging I made for Fall/Mabon. I used a grapevine shaped bell and then put leaves and things I found growing outside on it. Then i told silk leaves and flowers and hot glued them to the leaves underneath. I add the pinecones and lace bow. and the scarecrow for the top. The good thing about this wall hanging is I can take the stuff off of it and redo it if I want to.

Hubby said it looked really good and he wants to take me to Wal-mart or Micheale's to get some more flowers and leaves and things so I can make one for every season. I'm so happy I love going shopping.

Fairies Everywhere

I made both of these wall hangings last week. They were really fun to make. I used my new sewing machine- a Brother, it has 25 stitches. I free motioned the inside then fancy stitched around the border with a small leaf stitch. They were alot of fun to make and didn't take very long.
