My favorite thing about the holidays is that my family actually takes time to be together when it is not work related. We all work together (my sister and I own a business together, and we contract to our Dad, and our Mom works for our Dad, too). We actually spend quality time together, and it's wonderful!

Best part of Thanksgiving is food, family, and friends. Best part of Christmas is birthdays, my uncle and I were both born on Christmas, my great nephew was born on Christmas Eve, and my grandfather was born on the 27th.So for my family, it was not just Christmas but many birthdays to celebrate. My sister and I call ourselves the 12 days of Christmas because she was born on the 6th of January.

My favorite thing about the holidays is setting up and out lights as a symbol of lighting our way in the darkness. Its an ancient tradition where people used to build bonfires in their villages. And of course, living in southern California where the risk of wildfires is constant, we use electricity. Thanks for the opportunity to receive.

My favorite thing about the holidays is being with family. Going over to my brother's house early, having coffee with him while he puts the finishing touches on the turkey. Then helping with all the extras. One tradition ever since I was a baby when out parents were alive, mom would make her huge tub of dressing ( stuffing for those of you who call it that, but we don't stuff it into the turkey.) and once it was mixed up, we'd take out a small bowl for everyone to eat it before it was baked. Yummmm. It's my favorite thing about Thanksgiving. Thanks for the opportunity to win a prize through the Give away.
