I got my swap in the mail today. My partner never sent out so a Lovely Angel Swapper named Thea sent me these. I love them, I'm not saving them for Christmas they are hanging from my chandler in my sewing room right now. She also sent me this lovely fabric, I will have to use it for something special
This block is one of the BOM's i'm doing this year. 1 of 4 or 5, lol. I have another BOM block made too but not picture yet.

Well back to sewing.

Santa Table Topper Done

This only took me 2 years to complete but it is done and off my UFO list. The Santa is a panel and the blocks around him are from a online Squishie Block Swap at QYW in 2007. I have already put him on my livingroom table and it fits perfectly there. Now when I get the Christmas tree up it will also go on this table so I may not need a treeskirt for it we will see.
These blocks are from the 2007 Christmas Block Swap at QYW I will be working on them next to make a top witrh them, then I have pre-printed Christmas Blocks that will go on the other side of these so I have a 2-sided quilt for the livingroom couch. Hope to get it done this week/end.

It's supposed to get colder here in Florida and rain some more, nothing like what you are getting up north, but a 20+ degree drop in temps is alot of here, from 82 today to 62 tomorrow. My wish this Christmas is for it to get cold enough to SNOW in my yard, not just in Florida so I will have a White Christmas Morning for the first time in my life.

Friday I get to go Christmas Shoppping with my DS and MIL. Yes, DS is back home in Fla. So hopefully he will stay out of trouble and get a job and stay here now.
Well time to get off here and go watch TV with Hubby.

I have a new blog I just started. I will be hosting swaps on it. My first swap is 12 Days of Christmas check it out by clicking on the picture below. Well it's over cast and very windy, it looks like Winter here not Fall. Not sure what I'm going to work on today as yesterday we were supposed to go to our Shire meeting and we didn't make it. We went into town early so Hubby could do his Mom's bushs, trimming and weeding and while we were there my back started hurting and then my kidneys went off it was horrible, at first I was just in pain, then I felt like I had to og to the bathroom all the time, finnally I just told hubby to take me home and I layed down on the couch and went to be early last night was up at 5:54am this morning and I still have to call my doctor but I feel alot better today. So hopefully I can go with Hubby to fight practise Thursday as we were supposed to go out to dinner yesterday and he said we will do it Thursday.
Have a Blessed day!

Drying out from TS Fay.......

I'm tired of rain and wind, but hopefully it will be out of here soon. The eye passed over us last night. It took an hour to go over. Then we got the backside of the storm and it was really windy and lots of rain, lost power for an 1/2 hour today. Still under all the warnings and flood watchs.
The picture above is a Teapot block I made for a swap I had to make 8 of them. Then I have to make 8 or 9 Christmas blocks soon.
You have one more day to comment to the post below for the contest.

Tomorrow I go home..........

I am ready to come home. It's nice to visit but I'm so ready for my own house and my own stuff. I miss sewing and quilting whenever I want. Lol, I sound like a spoiled kid. But they say once you leave your parents house you can never go back, how true that is. I never realized how nit picky my Mom is and it gets worse as she gets older, but she's also used to living on her own with no one else here at all. It felt werid to have her tell me that I wasn't supposed to put trash in a garbage can(that already has a plastic bag in it) that I'm supposed to put it in a small food bag first, also plastic, then put it in the garbage can bag. But, being a good kid I did it like she wanted, lol

She also had lots of surgery on her nose while I was here and yesterday she got the stitches out, but the doctor told her that she has to come back and that she has the skincancer cells inside her nose not just on it. So, I'm not sure what they are going to do to her next week but I will be calling her to find out.

As soon as I can I will post about my swaps(have to check all the mail when I get home tomorrow. Plus I got some neat things for the Summer Sac Swap while I was here and other places along the way, can't tell what because it's a secret for now.
I hope everyone has had a great week more tomorrow or Saturday.

End of July already.....

Well today has been good so far, I got the dishes done and most of my email caught up and read. I heard from my doctor and the specialist about my appt friday.I've been working on the squishie blocks and got them half way done, they are turning out really nice.
The big news I got this week is my DD is going to an Art School in October then sometime in December she is getting married. It's just going to be a small wedding at the cleck of courts office then later they will have a big church wedding when they can. My soon to be SIL is in the Air Force so will be done with basic training in December. I'm very happy about all of this but, it sure will make the house empty with out her. She's actully been cleaning out her room and throwing things away, which is new for her as she is a packrat lol.

I also talked to my Mom yesterday and she wants me to go see her in KY soon as I get all my doctor appt done or straighten out. she told me she would send a plane ticket for me to go and come back and I'm going to do as I think I'm ready for the break, plus I really miss her. I haven't seen her in almost 2 years.Prayers for everyone that needs them. It's started to thunder so I'm going to have to get offline soon and back to sewing.
Have a Blessed Evening!

Updating Blog........

Isn't He lovely? I just love wild cats and other animals. Well, today is a kind of sad day for me. I found out from my doctor today that my kidneys are failing because of my RA med. I have to go to the hospital Thursday for tests. Then, I have to go see a specialist from there.
Some good news I got today was an email from my Mom. She finally got it hooked up so I sent her and email with pictures of me and the kids and information telling her to download Yahoo Messenger so we can chat.
Tonight I'm going to be cutting out all of my squishie blocks as I went through my stash and found all the fabrics I need for them. this way I can start sewing them tomorrow, I hope.
Well, that's all for now.
Have a Blessed Evening!

BTRS SWAP.......look what I got........

Well, the picture above I borrowed from Beth's Blog as it's such a great picture of the place mats ,napkins, and coasters she sent me for the BTRS Swap. I really love them and can't wait to use them. I finished the ones I'm sending and mailed them out to a place North of me, lol everything is north of me.
Well, yesterday I went to my doctor and I lost 7 pounds, I'm very proud of myself and I can tell as my pants are a little looser.

Now I get to start working on my Grab for the SCA, I have to have them done by the end of August, but as soon as my Hubby cleans off the dinning room table I will have a place big enough to cut everything out. Will try and post pictures when I'm finished with them. I'm also going to make up some stuff to sell if I have time.
Well, that's all for now. Have a Blessed Day!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July........

I know I did. The Shire picnic was so much fun. The picture above is the bags I made for the kits on Blackwork . we didn't do the demo but I gave everyone a kit to take home with them.

Here is a picture of the placemats I'm making for the swap. The backing is the same fabric as the pocket. I'm using different fabric for the napkins but i'm not showing a picture of them until they get to where they are going.

Now ,I have to do the quilting on a quilt I'm putting in Quiltfest in September. I also have to make grab for the Fall Coration with the SCA, so I will be busy for the rest of this month and beginning of August. Will try and post as much as I can, well back to sewing.

Have a Blessed Evening!

Wow, almost July 4th......

Wow, I feel like I haven't been posting for months, things have been really busy around here. My DD sprained her ankle a couple of weeks ago is has been in a splint for the last week, we had to take her to the ER to get it x-rayed. She goes to the doctor next week to have it checked. Then she also has an eye doctor appt. on the 8th as her lazy eye is bothering her again It's been almost 10 years since it bothered her.

My DS is MIA again, got in some trouble with family and police, I got a phone call last week he was in jail but now he is out and he still has not called me at all. I know he is 18 and on his own but I still worry, just wish he would call so I could know he is okay.

I've got so much stuff to do. I have a set of 6 placemats to make for a swap then I have to get together the mystery quilt from Memorial (sp) day to take to my guild I'm going to be teaching it for a class next year. That ought to be fun.Plus, I have the SCA Shire picnic next weekend and I am giving a demo on Blackwork so I have to put together kits for that, and print out the patterns. Then I have the rest of July and the beginning of August to myself so I can get the Squishie Blocks and The Ornament swaps done then I hope. I still have to make a dress for the SCA Fall Coronation of the new King and Queen. And I'm going to make Hubby a new tunic.

We went to the Trimarian Olympics last weekend it was a blast. Hubby won 3rd in Archery Competition. and it was raining the whole time but since everyone was getting wet and muddy anyway no one cared. there was a huge food fight followed by a water ballon fight that the princess started. Can't wait for the one next year we are most centainly going back.

Here is Hubby in a Toga, I made.
He is the one with the light shirt under it.

Well that's all my news for now.

Happy Birthday!

Well today is my Daughter's 20th Birthday. I can't believe she is already 20, seems like just yesterday I was pregant with her. I love this picture of her as it sums up her personality perfectly. We went out to dinner Saturday to celeabrate her BDay and mine (which is next monday the 16th) and Father's Day with my MIL. We went to the OutBack and had a really good time. My DS was there too and he told them it was her birthday so they sang to her and brought her a birthday ice cream sunday.

The above pictures are from the Insperational Swap I was in. Vicky got them in the mail so I can show them now. The flower side is the back. It's a Candlemat and coaster set. And talk about luck they got to her today which is her BDay also.

I got my partner information in the btrs swap, can't say who because it's a secret. Now I get to go hunt my stash for fabrics to make the placemats and napkins. I have nothing to do this week so I will work on them.

I hope you all have a Blessed Evening!

Finished Round 3 & more.......

Well I finished Round 3 for Spring Round robin and it goes in the mail tomorrow. I added the green border and the outside railfence border, plus the butterflies, there are three of them. The outside pok-a-doted fabric is what I'm sending for the backing. I really hope that Alicia likes it. I can't say where I'm mailing it to because it's a surprise.

This picture is from Michele she was who sent to me for the Spring part of the Four Seasons Quilt Swap. I love it, Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to hang it.

Other news, My MIL sure be getting out of the hospital tomorrow. Which is really good. But I found out today that my Uncle has to have bypass surgery, not sure when but will find out soon. Please keep them both in your prayers and light a healing candle for both.

Fabric for block.

I think this is the fabric I'm going to use with this block and I'm going to be making my round with some kind of points so it blends together. I'm going to use the yellow circle print and her red fabric ( which is on the left) to make what I'm thinking then I will use the red multi color fabric to do the 4 corners. Will post a picture when I get it done.
