I'm so upset and mad.........

Well we got some bad news today, my DD won't be going to college next week. We thought that with her scholarships and finntional(sp) aid that it would be enough but we found out that they will hardly cover any of the costs. I wish they would have told us this sooner now she is all upset and crying I asked about the loans for school to but it would only cover 4,000 of the cost and she would still have 10,000 left over for each quarter so that's $30,000 and any private loans need to be co-signed because she doesn't have any credit and I can't co-sign because I don't have any credit either, so it's a no go.I can't believe that when you get a 4 year scholarship it doesn't cover anything. So now I don't know what we are going to do and I don't know what she is going to do because if she doesn't use the scholarships soon she will lose them. I can't believe they make it so hard for a child to go to school exsecipaly the ones that want to learn. Thanks for listening to me vent, I'm really upset right now and don't know what to do to help her, she is so downhearted right now.

Today is the first day of Fall, it's been raining here all day, but the temp is a lot cooler in the 70's. I've been working on DD's college paperwork and I have to piece the backing to her quilt but She needs to tell me if she likes the other fabric first, so will work on it tomorrow.

Quiltathon.......Asian quilt for my DD

Update at 6:40 pm. I got the top finished. Had to go outside to take a picture and the only place to hang it was on the fence so you can't see the top border. tomorrow I'm going to quilt it.

This is what I'm working on for the Quilt-A-Thon. I took asian F8's that I got from a swap at QYW and I cut them into 9" squares, Along with some other asian fabric I had. Then I sewed them together in rows of 5 so it's coming out scrappy, I'm about half way done ,but wanted to get a picture up. I think it's coming out nice and will look good in her dormroom. I have the backing and the binding picked out for that part. Not sure how I'm going to quilt it yet.

Overcast Tuesday.......

Well, My DD got engaged this month and we finnally got a picture of the ring. So here it is, isn't it beautiful. They haven't set the wedding date yet because he is going into basic training Air Force and she is starting College on the 3rd.

My friend Anges made this pillow top for DD from some of the challenge fabric I sent her. I finnally got it into pillow case form today. I made it so she can just fold inside the black part then that way she can wash it and/or add a new pillow if needed.
Not much else going on, I'm trying to get my Artys Autumn swap stuff together so I can mail it out next week.

Angel Stitchers Clues and more....

This is one of the things I have made for my Angel Sticher. Since I have posted a picture of it I'm not sending it till last. A package is going in the mail tomorrow for her and it is heading west of me, I know everything is west of me, lol. If you look really close at the top of the dress, the pattern is from the background of her blog. I printed it out to make it.

Summer Sac Swap

Look at all the lovely things I got for my Summer Sac Swap. Thank you so much Terisa . She lives in Napa Valley so I got the ice bucket with grapes on it the grape leaf and the grapes, plus some little hand crocheted flowers.

Then she also sent me a book of postcards and lots of labels from the wine the make there. The cards on top of the second picture are made from Art work that she and her family did out of recycled things. Plus I got these great prints which I'm going to frame and hang up.

And lastly I got a bunch of quilt blocks that were made by her guild. So now I will have a quilt that is from Nappa Valley,Ca. Thank you so much again.

Yeah it's almost Autumn

As you can see I've changed my colors for Autumn. I love this time of year. Me and Hubby were married on Halloween and I really like Thanksgiving when our whole family gets together. It also has all of the best Sabbats, at least I think so, But, I do love Yule and 12th-night too. I got my partner for the Stocking Swap and we have alot in common so this will be fun filling her stocking.

DD came home last night from MIL's house and her BF is now back in Uath. I'm sure she misses him. So now we have to start on getting her ready for College as she has to be there on the 3rd of October.

I hope everyone stays safe from Ike.

Christmas Stitching already...

Well in the mail yesterday I got a sweet little package from my Secret Swapper, now I'm in a couple of secret swaps so I'm not sure who it is from but the name on the address label says Sharon Y of Corna Ca, If you are her can you please post a comment so I can find out who you are. Thanks. I got a cute little bag, the card of needles and a pretty notebook.

This cloth is for my Christmas in July blocks from QYW the middle cloth is a WOW. We are doing signature blocks from Quilter's Cache. I'm working on cutting them out right now, I have to make 9 of them.

Got a letter in the mail today about Crystal college she has to be there on the 3rd of October for Orientation, so my MIL is going to drive us and we will get there a day early and stay overnight in a Motel, because she has to be there at 9:30 am and it's a 5 hour drive from us. She has to go to orientation, then meet her Teachers, then take a test. After that they have a bus that takes them to the dorms. I will see them before we leave. I can't believe that she is going to college soon. My nest will be empty then.

Home again......

We had a really good time at Fall Cornation this weekend. I took lots of pictures of the Last Court of the old King and Queen and the Cornation of the new King and Queen. Got some pictures of the Tavern my Hubby built the trailer for. and a picture of myDD and BF coming back from meeting the new King and Queen at Court.

John got his authorazation to fight in the upcoming events. It was so hot Sunday that fighters were getting over heated during the fights. I ended up with very swollen feet that I couldn't walk yesterday, but it was worth it I had so much fun.

Now back to sewing.
