Fairy Breeze Quilt

I got the last row of pinwheels on my quilt top yesterday. I'm not sure if I'm going to add a border or not. But it's alot long than I had planned so I have to go shopping for more fabric for the backing and binding. So it goes in the UFO pile til I can afford to get the fabric.

The next 2 projects I'm working on I can't show you because they are Challenges. One is due in July and the other in September. But I will be working on other stuff inbetween so I will post those.

We've been changing things

Wow, what a difference it makes in a house without kids. The basket above Huby got me to go with my Panda bear Plate, isn't it neat looking? We have been adding things like glass covers to the bathroom ceiling lights and I'm going to be getting new shower curtians, now that I know they won't be distroyed. it's hard to tell from the picture but this one is cut crystal (below)

Then last night Hubby fixed some of my Hummingbird stuff that was broken.Then Hubby cleaned out this basket it had a plant in it that I killed. So we took the other stuff out of it , Hubby clean the rock water fall and took the electric part out of it and put it in Mr. Fishy's tank. You can see it in the back of the tank rightside.Then I got my tiger I Cross Stitched years ago back now he's in my sewingroom again.

Not sure what we are going to do next. I hope to sew this weekend and get my Fairy Breeze top done and the 9-Patch Star block done also.

Happy Memorial Day!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

My Aunt Cindy made me the doll above and she also made herself one but her's has gold instead of silver. I made the flags to go on them and mailed her's to her. She will stay out on display til after Labor Day.

This is a basket I made from Plastic Canvas and a Cross stitch piece. The above picture is the front.
This is the side it's made with Plastic Canvas and I just sewed it on to it.

The Star is the back of the basket. The 2 Quilt blocks under the Basket and Doll where made from a swap when I had my own club and they are Rail Blocks in Red, White and Blue.

Since I designed the basket I will post "How To Make It" if anyone wants the pattern just post and let me know.

We are having friends over for a grill-out later I'm hoping it doesn't rain but since this is Florida and the weather we have been having you never know.

Fairy Breeze Quilt

Well I worked on some of the blocks for the Fairy Breeze quilt and added them to the top. I only have 4 more to make for the other side then I can add the border and the top is done.

More Rain pictures

Well this is what our yard looks like after 16.50" of rain. It stopped raining for now and the sun peaked out for alittle while but it's over cast again. now we live in the middle of a lake lol.

I've been working on some stuff for our SCA event this weekend, pictures when I get them done.

Rain, Rain and more Rain

As you can see from the photos it raining here we got 2" yesterday and are supposed to get up to 5" today. I'm not sure about tomorrow. the water in the background of the picture isn't a lake it's a horse pasture

and this photo is of a cow pasture and our front yard.

so today i'm staying inside and sewing some SCA pj's and some bags to carry my crafts in.

Prayers please and finshed project

My friend is in the hospital and she is pregant, she went into labor yesterday and they had to stop it because it's way to early for the baby to make it if it's born right now. also my friend is having problems as they are giving her iron, blood and B12, plus her blood pressure is up to 140/92 and if they get that reading a couple more time they will induce labor weather the baby is ready or not. They are trying to wait at least another week before they induce her or longer if she can get stablized. So please pray for them both as we don't want to lose either one.Thankyou so much.

Also I got my project I was sewing finished here are the pictures. top one is the front, bottom pic is the back.

Twin Needle Project

Today I'm doing a project that we did in Guild. (Above pictures) I think it was this year or late last year. The one I had done in guild my DD claimed and I've been wanting to make another one so I cut out the fabric and the batting for it today. ( it's hard to see the green fabric in this picture)

Then I set up the sewing machine for twin needles to do the quilting.

I'm using threads that are the same colors as in the flower fabric. and since the flowers look like they are on vines I'm using a vine stitch to do the quilting with. Here is one line done.

And here it is up close.

I also get to use my zipper foot and i'm adding some trim to this one as I'm going to be using it for the SCA. Will post more pictures when I get it done.

Trailer full of Fabric

This is what a trailer full of fabric looks like. It's even stuff under the sheet metal.

This last picture is of a pile that needs to still be folded and I've only gone thought about 1/4 of it now.

Plus I got a letter from my DS for Mother's day and we are hoping he will get out of jail on the 19th and be back home to Florida soon.

Fabric and new Fish tank.

It's been a busy week so far. Sunday we went out to Red Lobster for dinner with my MIL it was lovely and I had lobster and steak with rice. Plus brought home leftovers.

Yesterday, we went into Deland to pick up some things to bring to a SCA friend at the end of this month. Well our friend Margaret gave me 5 large bags and 3 boxes of fabric. I'm glad we had the trailer with us as there was no way it would have fit in the back of the truck lol, Hubby covered it with a tarp because it rained last night. Then this morning I went through about 1/3 of it. What I don't want I will be giving to the ladies in my guild, they make quilts for babies in the hospital, so it will be put to good use. I've been washing what I went though so far, 5 loads and have it all folded and put away. Tomorrow I will take pictures of it. Some of the cloth I can use for quilting and the other for SCA stuff.

Then yesterday we stopped at another friends house and they had a 5 gallon fish tank they weren't using so they gave it to me for Mako. Hubby cleaned it today and I found some neat things to go in it that were on my shelves. So here is a couple of pictures of what it looks like. Mako has been swimming around like crazy in it.

Wow just noticed that you can see my teddybears behind the fish tank lol. Well have to go put more fabric in the dryer.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to Everyone!

The Wall Hanging above is from last year's Mother's Day Challenge. I came in third. This year it's just me and Hubby as the Children are out of the house now. Crystal and Matt have been married 2 months on the 12th. Brant is still in Al. we are hoping he gets out of jail sometime this month as he has been in there almost 2 months now waiting for his courtdate.

It's going to be a quiet & relaxing day today, then this afternoon we are going out to dinner with my MIL. Not sure if I'm going to sew today or not.

Sewing a top today...

So far I got the middle and the panels sewed together. I'm still making the pinwheel blocks for the outside of each Fairy panel, then I have to add the border. The name of the pattern is called Garden Breeze by my friend Amy. I'm going to call mine Fairy Breeze. I feel much better today and I got all my bloodwork and tests done yesterday. Went to the doctor appt and I don't have to go back for 4 months. While we were in Daytona we went to a Thrift store and I got a new lamp for my bedroon, it has roses inside of it and a light green shade on it. The best part is I only paid $1.00 for it. I also got a Stainglass Panda Bear lamp shade for another lamp. Then me and Hubby went out to dinner.

Love Bugs

Well this is how we in Florida know that summer is almost here--Lovebugs, they are such a pain to have around. They get into everything and even ruin the paint on your cars. See that little black spot in the picture? That's 2 of them doing what they are named for, lol.

After posting earlier, I felt better and got to my sewing machine, I fix a silk sheet that was ripped, redid a dress I made that was to long, and worked on the background for my Hollyhocks WH.

this and that..

Have you ever been just plain bored? I am. I have all these projects that I could be working on and other projects that are in my head that I would like to do, but nothing is really inspiring me to do them. I think maybe I'm burned out from all the projects I've been doing since January. I don't even want to read anymore. I just feel like sleeping or sitting on the couch.

Now I know that I have blood work to get done and a heart test to do. I was supposed to get them done last November but I keep putting it off, I've also been sick since then and when I'm sick I don't like the vamps taking blood from me. But tomorrow I have an appointment with my R.A. doctor and I lost or misplaced the blood work paper from him. So I called the office and they are faxing it to the hospital so I can get it done in the morning so while I'm there I will get the other blood work and tests done, then go to my appt. later.

Then later this month I have another appt. to my colon doctor. so this month is pretty shot with all that.

I do have a couple of bright spots in this month, TMT is in 2 1/2 weeks and I want to go to my Fiber Arts group at the end of the month so maybe I will get more inspiration from them.

So maybe after all the hospital & Doctor stuff tomorrow I will feel better, But for some reason I'm dreading getting the tests done. After 12 years of it you think I would be used to it by now.

DD's New House

This is the outside of DD & SIL's new house on Base. I finally got pictures. It looks really nice and it's in a new neighborhood. so now they get to have fun going shopping for funtiure for it.

I also found out that they are getting a kitty soon. so hopefully now that they have the house with in the next month or 2 they will come with the movers and get her things, then I get a new sewingroom.
